Srinagar, January 07 (KNO) : President of Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCC&I) Sheikh Ashiq Ahmad on Monday welcomed the steps initiated towards maintenance of the sanctity and safety of the Jamia Masjid by the Anjuman-e-Auqaf. Sheikh Ashiq Ahmad as per a statement issued to KNO said, “It was unfortunate that attempts were made to involve the historic Masjid in controversies by vested interests. Such acts were aimed at maligning the peace loving people of the State and creating divisions amongst them which was deplorable.” “The business community of Kashmir was always prepared to shoulder any responsibility for protection of our heritage and culture,” he said.(KNO)
