Srinagar, January 08 (KNO) : Two passengers were killed while another sustained injuries after a passenger vehicle they were travelling in met with an accident in Banihal area of Ramban district on Tuesday evening. Officials told KNO that said that a passenger vehicle bearing registration number JK02-0216 was on its way to Chapnari from Banihal when it skidded off the road and rolled down into a 100 ft gorge. They said that two passengers died on spot while the driver of the vehicles was injured. The deceased were identified as Mohammad Shafi Bhoru, 70 and Mohammad Shafi Lone, 60, both residents of Chapnari. The driver of the vehicle, identified as Arif Saleem, son of Muhammad Saleem, 22 was rushed to Sub-District Hospital Banihal for treatment, they said.(KNO) Girls from north Kashmir attempt suicide after failing in class 12 exams Srinagar, January 08 (KNO) : A day after the Board of School Education declared the class 12 results in Kashmir, two girls from northern districts attempted to commit suicide after in the examinations. A 19-year-old student allegedly committed suicide by jumping in river Jhelum at Chankhan area of Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district after failing in Class XII examination. Reports reaching to KNO said that she took the extreme step to end her life this morning after she failed in class 12th examination, adding that she was saved by some fishermen and was rushed to Sub District hospital Sopore where she is under treatment. Meanwhile, police took cognizance of this incident. In a similar kind of incident, a girl student from Bandipora district also tried to end her life after she failed in class 12th examination. Official sources told KNO that a girl student of Qazipora area of Bandipora tried to end her life after failing in 12th class examination after results were declared yesterday. Sources added a 19 year old girl student was rushed to a local hospital where the doctors referred her JVC Srinagar medical Institute for advance treatment.(KNO)
