Srinagar, January 12 (KNO) : The overnight snowfall in the Valley including Srinagar, the summer capital of the State disrupted the normal life in Kashmir as the only road connecting Kashmir with rest of the Valley remained closed while as the air traffic was also suspended by the authorities in view of poor visibility. The fresh snowfall started in the intervening night of Friday-Saturday across the Valley, thus leading to the closure of Srinagar-Jammu highway once again. The Srinagar-Jammu highway was closed for the traffic several times since the beginning of this year due to the frequent snowfall from January 01. Officials said that air traffic in view of poor visibility was also suspended by the authorities here, saying that air traffic will resume once there is improvement in the visibility and weather conditions. The local MeT department here forecasted improvement in the weather conditions across that Valley. He added that the snow spell has brought respite to the people in the Valley from shivering cold that continued from last many days. The MeT officials told KNO that there is possibility of rain or snowfall in the Valley on January 19 and 20 here.(KNO)
