JAMMU & KASHMIR Shabir Shah shifted to Kasturi Ward of Tihar Jail, DFP stages protest | KNO Published 270 weeks ago on January 14, 2019 By KashmirNewsObserver Srinagar, January 14 (KNO) : Activists of J&K Democratic Freedom Party on Monday staged a protest here against what they termed as ‘ill-treatment’ with incarcerated Shabbir Shah in Tihar Jail. Demanding release of Shah, who is a chairman of Democratic Freedom Party and senior Hurriyat Conference leader they said that despite being in bad health he is being persecuted in Tihar Jail. Shah continues to languish in New Delhi’s Tihar jail after he was arrested by National Investigation Agency NIA from his Sanatnagar residence in July 2017. Spokesman of DFP as per KNO said, Shah was shifted to Kasturi ward of Tihar Jail meant for prisoners whose jail record or behaviour towards other inmates or towards jail staff is not good. “He has been placed in a small cell of the ward where he is unable to even spread his legs while sleeping.
