Srinagar, January 16 (KNO) : The State Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday said that BJP is the only political party in country which has worked in real sense to empower Scheduled Caste (SC) community.
“Although Congress ruled for decades but it did nothing for the said community except to take them for granted for vote bank politics,” Dr. Devinder Kumar Manyal, BJP State Vice-President and former Minister, while addressing media persons at BJP headquarter, Jammu said. According to KNO, BJP State Spokesperson Balbir Ram Rattan and SC Morcha State General Secretary Dharminder Kumar also accompanied Dr. Manyal.
Dr. Manyal, while highlighting various landmark steps taken by BJP government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the socio-economic upliftment of the weaker sections, said that the icon of SCs, Dr. B. R. Ambedkar has been given true recognition by BJP dispensation only. “It is the BJP led Central government that has acknowledged contributions of great statesman, Dr. Ambedkar, who was ignored by Congress leaders even during his lifetime,” he said.
Former Minister said that 2-days special Parliament session was called by Modi led government to pay tributes to the Chief Architect of Indian Constitution. BJP government prevented the SC, ST atrocities Act from being weakened by bringing out special amendment, he said.
“Recognition of 5 places associated with the Baba Saheb ji namely Janambhumi Mohu, Shikshabhumi London, Dikshabhumi Nagpur, Maha Parinirvan Sthal Delhi and Chaitya Bhumi Mumbai as Panch Tirth is a landmark decision of Modi government,” he added. Dr. Manyal emphasized that Dalit community is grateful to the Modi government for taking bold steps with an empathetic approach towards community.
“It is the progressive and great thinking of PM Modi who has worked for ensuring reach of all government policies and welfare schemes to the targeted population with absolute removal of middlemen. For the very first time in history of independent India, true reach to neglected sections has been ensured,” he stressed.(KNO)
