Srinagar, January 16 (KNO) : Muslim League on Wednesday denounced the sedition charges and filing of charge sheet in 2016 case by the Delhi Police against Kashmiri students pursuing studies at Jawahar Lal Nehru University (JNU) in 2016. ML spokesman in a statement issued to KNO said “the charges will have serious consequences on the academic and future carrier of the students and demanded immediate withdrawal of all charges.” Strongly condemning the harassment of Kashmiri students, Spokesman of ML said that Kashmiri youth are being targeted on every front in and outside the state. “To harass the Kashmiri students pursuing studies outside Jammu and Kashmir is not a new practice, earlier in many universities and colleges Kashmiri students have were harassed even beaten up, forcing them to drop the studies incomplete and return home,” he said. ML spokesman further stated that this clearly exhibits the Indian imperialistic approach towards Kashmiri students. He said that education institutions have been turned into torture centers for Kashmiri students outside state. “India is not a safe place for Kashmiri students. They are suspected everywhere and beleaguered simply because of their Kashmiri origin,” he said.(KNO)
