Srinagar, January 19 (KNO) : Three youth from South Kashmir’s Pulwama district have been booked under Public Safety Act (PSA) and have been shifted to Jammu jail by the district administration.
Officials identified the youth as Aamir Shafi (25) son of Mohammad Shafi Bhat of Karimabad Pulwama, Mohammad Shafi Mir(28) son of Mohammad Ramzan Mir of Kharpora Sirnoo and Suhail Ahmad Wagay(22) son of Gulam Mohammad Wagay resident of Sirnoo. A police official said that trio were involved in many stone pelting related incidents and were instigating others in it.
They were also working as Over Ground Workers of militants, he said, adding that they have been booked under the PSA vide order no for Amir Shafi as warrant number DMP/PSA/19/01 Dated 17/01/2019, Mohd Shafi Mir as warrant number DMP/PSA /19/02 Dated 17/01/2019 and Suhail Ahmad Wagay as warrant no DMP /PSA/19/03 Dated 17/01/2019 through police station Pulwama. Sources said that on Friday dossier prepared by police were signed by Deputy Commissioner Pulwama and on Friday evening trio were jointly shifted to Kot Bhalwal Jammu.
Aamir and his father as per their family members were arrested last month however his father who according to them is suffering from tumour was released after severe torture. Aamir was our lone bread earner and was taking care of the medicines of his ailing father, they said.
They requested authorities especially Governor to release him on humanitarian ground as there is no earning hand in the family and who will take care of his ailing father, two sisters, wife, a little baby and mother.
Mohammad Shafi who according to his family was working at a local mobile shop before arrested by forces soon after killing of army man turned militant Zahoor Thoker and two associates.
Belonging to a very poor family, Shafi is survived by old father, sister and brother. His family also urged governor administration to look into the matter as family has no source of income as Shafi was only earning hand in Mir family.
Suhail Ahmed a B.Sc student at Banglore who according to his family returned home two months back to appear in an exam at SKIMS Soura however he was arrested by forces before appearing in examination.
His family members said that he was pursuing B.Sc in Banglore and by arresting him and booking under PSA, his carrier will get affected His father was toiling hard so that Suhail could study further but forces have booked him under false cases and are spoiling his carrier, they said.
His family which comprises of two sisters besides parents urged Governor led administration to look into the issue on humanitarian ground and order his immediate release so that his future may not get affected. Meanwhile, Hurriyat (M) Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq said that the inhuman cycle of arbitrary arrests continue when at a time when they ask them to apprise them of atrocities.
“They ask us to apprise them of atrocities while inhuman cycle of arbitrary arrests by them continues to punish Kashmiri’s as today 3 more youth Amir Shafi of Karimabad,Mohd Shafi of Kharpora & Suhail Wagay of Sirnoo are arrested slapped draconian Public Safety Act and shifted to Kotbalwal jail in Jammu!
