Two dead, two missing in snow avalanche at Trigam Ramban | KNO

Srinagar, January 22 (KNO) : Two persons including a girl died on Tuesday after snow avalanche hit Karwana in revenue Village in Trigam. Officials said that snow avalanche occurred at around 3:00 pm near Kawana at Revenue Village Trigam, resulting in death to two persons including one girl who they identified as Muhammad Rafiq (25), son of Gh. Qadir and Sumerna (12), daughter of Mukhtiar Ahmed Both the deceased were residents of Revenue Village Trigam. However, they said two others are also missing after the avalanche hit the village. The duo has been identified as Fatha Begum (30), wife of Surkh Ahmed (live) and Taja Begum (32), wife of Margob, both residents of Revenue Village Trigam. The persons were on their way to their home coming to their home when avalanche hit them, officials said. Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ramban has sanctioned ex-gratia of Rs four lakh in favour of each of the NoKs of the deceased. Tehsildar and Station House Officer (SHO) reached the spot.(KNO)
