Srinagar, January 30 (KNO) : Out on custody parole, Hurriyat Conference (M) spokesman, Shahid-ul-Islam was on Thursday allowed to meet his family members while as at least 20 forces personnel were keeping a close watch on him, a family source told KNO. The sources said that at 5 pm Shahid was taken back and lodged in Police Station Rajbagh. "There were emotional scenes at the Sanatnagar residence of Shahid as his wife and two daughters burst into tears after seeing him," they told KNO. According to the terms of the parole, Shahid-ul-Islam will be taken to Police Station Rajbagh again everyday at 5 pm in the evening till his parole ends. Arrested in an alleged militant funding case, Shahid-ul-Islam has been undergoing detention at Tihar jail in Delhi for past more than a year. An NIA court had on Monday granted him week-long custody parole after his wife suffered a brain stroke. Nuzhat Shah, wife of Shahid-ul-Islam had survived a brain stroke on January 12 this year following which she was rushed to a hospital. The ailing wife of Shahid-ul-Islam and his two daughters had been demanding his release on humanitarian grounds.(KNO)
