Three OGWs involved in recent grenade attack in Sopore arrested | KNO

Sopore, February 02 (KNO) : Police on Saturday claimed to have arrested three Over Ground Workers (OGW) involved in recent grenade throwing case, which took place on SBI camp of 179 Bn CRPF on 25 January. Police as per KNO said that a joint team of 52 RR,177BN of CRPF and Sopore police arrested three OGWs identified as Ghulam Qadir Rather, son of Mohammad Shafi Rather of Tarzoo, Aijaz Ahmed Khan, son of Ghulam Mohammad Khan of Naseem Bagh Sopore and Owaise Khalid Dar, son of Ghulam Mohammad Dar of Naseem Bagh Krankshivan Colony Sopore. Addressing a press conference, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Sopore, Javeed said that police have arrested three OGWs who are involved in Warpora grenade throwing case. SSP said that during questioning, the trio confessed the commission of crime and it revealed that the JeM militants based in Sopore provided two grenades to these individuals for throwing them on security forces to cause life damage/injury to security forces personnel. He further said that one grenade was recovered from them.(KNO)
