Srinagar, February 12 (KNO) : Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman, Syed Ali Geelani on Tuesday said continuous bad weather, heavy snow fall and torrential rains for the last couple of weeks have created havoc in Jammu and Kashmir particularly the stranded passengers and their families, and callous and casual response from the administration has added to their miseries. Expressing his grief and sorrow on the multifold problems faced by the people, Geelani as per a statement issued to KNO said that it has exposed the tall claims of the establishment. “This road link is always under the harsh shadows of weather and it has consumed thousands of people in addition to the property worth millions. This deadly link sucks the blood of Kashmiris for the last 71 years and no year has passed when its connectivity is un-interrupted throughout the year,” he said. Geelani said that thousands of fruit loaded trucks and their owners are stranded at the mercy of weather and poor and helpless fruit growers are made to watch their hard earned wealth, decaying in front of them. He said that passengers waiting for the road to open are financially exhausted and instead of providing them food shelter, government has forced them to the mercy of the fascist and sick minded Hinduatwa preachers who thrashed and stoned these helpless people and made them to run for their life. Geelani said that every event in Jammu and Kashmir for the last 7 decades has proved the genesis and philosophy of two nation theory right. He further said when a yatra bus meets an accident in Kashmir, people come to their rescue and provide them every possible help, but when our people face any hardship outside, handful of venomous people try to take their revenge by harassing them. Meanwhile, Geelani expressed shock on the demise of Grand Mufti of Jammu and Kashmir, Mufti Bashir-ud-din Farooqi and said that every living creature has to perish. He said that deceased was not only a learned Islamic Scholar, but a noble and pious man as well. Geelani prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and courage to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss. On the directions of Geelani, Syed Naseem-u-Zaffer Geelani participated the nimaz-e-Jinaza of Mufti Bashir-ud-din Farooqi.(KNO)
