All supplies to valley restored, no need to panic, 3000 trucks with essential arrived: Div Com Kashmir | KNO

Srinagar, February 13 (KNO) : Government on Wednesday said that the supplies of essentials to the Valley have been restored and more than 3000 trucks and tankers have arrived in Kashmir. Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Khan addressed a presser, asking general public that they should not be fear stricken about depletion of stocks. According to KNO correspondent, Khan said: "The supply line of the valley has been restored and more than 3000 trucks and tankers with essential commodities, petrol and diesel have arrived to valley. Gas supply has been restored as well." He said that 504 tankers with petrol have arrived boosting the petrol scenario and the embargo implemented recently by the administration will be lifted now. "Around 3400 LMV's too have reached valley with passengers," Khan said, adding that situation has been stabilized while enough stocks are available with the government to tackle to any situation. According to Div Com, under specific guidance from Governor Satya Pal Malik measures have been taken to tackle any situation arising from, if weather again goes rough. He said that all the power lines have been restored and all the water schemes, barring three are working. "We were able to clear 90 percent of the inland roads in two days time and all the land route except Machil, Tangdhar are clear while power and heating systems in Hospitals are working hassle free," Khan said. Around 500 transformers were damaged in the recent snowfall and 40-50 workshops for repairing of damaged transformers have been installed. "People need to stay assured that we have overcome the bad phase and supplies have been restored. The recent embargo on petrol and diesel will be lifted from tomorrow," he said. (KNO)
