Addressing a meeting held on the occasion of his anniversary, Malik said that Doctor Ashai was a humble soul who throughout his life stood for the cause of freedom and justice and served humanity till his last breath. Malik said Ashai remained steadfast while fighting for the human rights of Kashmiris and as a doctor always cared for his patients. He said that “the brutal way in which doctor was killed martyred by forces is a glaring proof of Indian oppression and aggression in Jammu Kashmir, which is till date going on unabated.” While praying for the heavenly abode of Doctor, Malik also prayed for freedom of Jammu Kashmir and the martyrs who laid down their lives for the righteous cause. Pertinently, the meeting was attended by JKLF leaders and activists in large numbers and was addressed by many speakers.(KNO)
