Srinagar, February 18 (KNO) : Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Chairman, Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai Monday paid tributes to three slain militants killed in an encounter at Pinglan Pulwama today. Sehrai in a statement issued to KNO said “insensitivity of the Indian authorities is the sole reason for the unabated bloodshed. The demand for legitimate right to self-determination is the only crime of the Kashmiri people.” He also hailed the statement of Kamal Hassan wherein he, said, ‘India should hold the plebiscite in Kashmir’. Expressing gratitude to Kamal Hassan for the support to the people of Kashmir in their “legitimate struggle”, Sehrai expressed hope that he and other sane voices would play a “positive and effective role to press India for the peaceful settlement of Kashmir dispute. “It is primarily a question of the birth right of the people of the state of J&K,” he said. Sehrai urged Government of India should give up its ‘obduracy’ and accept the reality that it has to address the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the wishes of its people. “The Kashmir issue cannot be resolved through brute force nor people of Kashmir can be silenced with military might,” he said, adding that the issue can only be resolved to by addressing the dispute in its historical perspective. He said that instead of taking measures to resolve long pending issue in its historical perspective, New Delhi wants to thrust its choice through barrel of gun. “This arrogance and persistent denial can’t hold water for long and Delhi has to come to terms with the writing on the wall,” he said. “A delay in resolution of the long-running dispute has kept the people of whole sub-continent hostage and it is proving to be a big hurdle to peace and prosperity in the whole subcontinent,” he said Meanwhile, Sehrai expressed his grief and sorrow over the demise of father of incarcerated Hurriyat leader Farooq Ahmed Dar and Mother of JKLF Vice-President Haroon Saleem, who breathed her last yesterday. He extended his sympathy and solidarity with the bereaved families and prayed for the deceased souls. On the directions of Sehrai, Tehreek-e-Hurriyat delegation comprising of Mhraj -u- Din Rabbani and Mukthyar Ahmed Sofi visited the residence of Farooq Ahmed Dar and offered condolence with the bereaved family.(KNO)
