Srinagar, February 21 (KNO) : State Human Rights Commission chairman R(rtd) justice Bilal Nazki today issued a notice to deputy commissioner Pulwama and SSP Pulwama seeking compliance report regarding the killing of civilian Mushtaq Ahmed Sofi of Pingalan, Pulwama on February 18. In a 17-hour-long gunfight, four soldiers including a major, three Jaish-e-Muhammad militants and a civilian Mushtaq Ahmed Sofi. Four residential houses that of Muhammad Abdullah Hajam, Muhammad Yousuf Hajam, Ali Muhammad Bhat, Abdul Gani Ganai and Mushtaq Ahmed. The notices to the DC Pulwama and SSP Pulwama came after a detailed petition filed by the chairman International Forum for Human Rights and Justice Muhammad Ahsan Untoo under petition number SHRC/39/Pulwama. The petition reads that the civilian Mustaq Ahmed Sofi, according to the eye-witnesses, stated that he was killed in a cold blood in his house and that he was the sole breadwinner for his family. According t6 a statement issued to KNO, the petitioner has also urged SHRC for the complete compensation for the damaged houses.(KNO)
