Prominent political workers join NC in Banihal | KNO

Banihal, February 25 (KNO) : Dozens of Congress and Peoples’ Democratic Party workers on Monday joined National Conference at Hingni and Ramsoo areas of Banihal Assembly Constituency and pledged to carry forward the mission of the party to steer the state to peace, progress and development. Welcoming prominent political activists into the party fold, District Ramban NC President Sajjad Shaheen as per a statement issued to KNO said that with their joining the party will be further strengthened at the grass roots level. He exhorted the cadre to reach out to the people, identify their problems and seek redressal at appropriate levels. During day long visit, the NC leaders took stock of the problems faced to the people and damages caused due to snow and incessant rains. Shaheen urged the administration to get a preliminary survey of the damages carried out by team of concerned officers so that the sufferers are adequately compensated. He said the areas like Mahu-Mangit, Neel, Pogal-Paristan, Trigam, Sarachi, Panchal are still cut off from major towns of Banihal due to blockade of road even after three weeks of the snowfall. Shaheen also sought immediate restoration of power and drinking water facilities to these villages, which became erratic in the wake of massive snowfall. Block presidents Riyaz Ahmed Mir, Mohamed Khalil Sohil, Block President Youth NC Shabir Ahmed Naik, Jagjit Singh, Sarpanch Kuldeep Singh, Halqa President Mushtaq Ahmed Chodhry, Abdul Qayoom, Mohd Younas accompanied the District President during his tour.(KNO)
