NC leaders visit injured persons of mishap at Mansar | KNO

Jammu March 02 (KNO) : Additional General Secretary National Conference Dr. Sheikh Mustafa Kamaal accompanied by Sheikh Bashir Ahmed Provincial Secretary National Conference and Mohd Farooq Mughal visited GMC, Jammu to look-up road accident victims of the Bus mishap at Mansar Yesterday. Accompanied by Medical Superintendent Dr. Dara Singh they went round Disaster management ward and the emergency ward today. As informed 39 patients were brought to GMC including one brought dead and out of the other 38 injured two were critical and the remaining 36 out of danger. Dr. Kamaal visited each patient and impressed upon the staff to do whatever is possible. The injured informed Dr. Kamaal that the bus was carrying 47 passengers and said that the fare of Rs 500/= per passenger was nearly double of actual fare and that light motor vehicles charge three to four times more of around Rs 2000/= per passenger than what is actually the rate. Dr. Kamaal on this occasion appealed to the administration to take steps to ensure that passengers on the Jammu- Srinagar Highway are not exploited and strictly enforce fare. Also in the event of closure of Jammu- Srinagar NHIA buses do not take the risky Mansar road. Also, some cash relief be provided to the unfortunate victims who were mostly from North Kashmir area and had not anticipated this accident. On the request of Dr. Kamaal , Dr Dara Singh ordered meal for admitted persons and to discharge patients who are fit.(KNO)
