Srinagar, March 02 (KNO): Former finance minister Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari Saturday condoled the demise of Qazi Mohammad Afzal, the former PDP minister who passed away on Friday evening at SKIMS Soura. In his condolence message, Bukhari described Late Afzal a noted politician, social activist and a noble personality who was known for his public welfare commitments in his district. “Late Qazi was one of the astute politicians of Kashmir valley who was known for his pro-people stand. During my association with him, I found him a thorough gentleman with an optimistic personality. He would never allow any difficulty to overpower his psyche and would always maintain his cool,” Bukhari described him in a statement issued to KNO. The former finance minister said that during his stint as forest minister, he had taken various reformative measures which shall be remembered in the history of forest department for times to come. “Also the developmental measures taken by Late Qazi sahib for the welfare of the people of Ganderbal will be remembered for times immemorial.” While expressing solidarity with the bereaved family, his friends and acquaintances, Bukhari prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul. “May almighty Allah grant him highest place in Jannah to the deceased and bestow patience to the members of the bereaved family, their relatives, friends and acquaintances to bear this irreparable loss and face this hour of grief,” Bukhari said.(KNO)
