Two killed, dozen injured in Langate mishap | KNO

Langate, March 06 (KNO) : At least two person were killed while a dozen others sustained injuries a vehicle they were travelling in Turned turtle at Langate main chowk of Kupwara district in north Kashmir belt on Wednesday afternoon. Sources told KNO that a mini passenger bus bearing registration number JK09A-1220 turned turtle in main chowk Langate, resulting in injuries to over a dozen passengers. As per eyewitness, one among the injured succumbed to his injuries; while as other injured persons were evacuated to Langate Health Center where from they were rushed to District Hospital Handwara for advanced treatment. Block Medical Officer (BMO) Langate Nazir Ahmad told KNO that, “Six among twelve were referred to District Hospital Handwara for specialized treatment.” He said one among them had severe injuries who later succumbed to his injuries at Handwara Health Centre, a medical officer treating the injured persons said. BMO Langate further also said that one besides other injured was brought dead to this hospital. The deceased were identified as Mohammad Sultan and Sajad Ahmed. Meanwhile, police has also taken consign of the road mishap and a police party also reached the spot. (KNO)
