Handwara, March 6, (KNO) : An unidentified person was killed in a brief exchange of gunfire with security forces on Wednesday late evening at Banderpayee Handwara of northern Kashmir belt while as the area remains under cordon, officials said. Army sources told KNO that, cordon and search operation was launched in Baderpayee Handwara on tip of presence of militants in the area this evening. As army reached the suspect place, the hiding militants fired upon the Army personnel and hurled some grenades towards them but no.injury was reported. The source further told KNO that, in the brief exchange of fire one unidentified person has been killed whose identity is yet to be ascertained. However he said that, the area is still under cordon, and Army's 32 RR, CRPF and JPKs SOG is on job. Meanwhile the authorities have snapped the internet services in PD Handwara.(KNO)
