Srinagar, March 08 (KNO) : Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (JKDFP) Friday strongly condemned the arresting of leaders and political activists in nook and corner and said that by putting political leaders and activists in jails will only suffocate the atmosphere more and pave way for much harsh reaction at people’s level. The JKDFP Spokesperson in a statement issued to KNO said that New Delhi has already placed senior resistance leader Shabir Shah behind bars which has proved futile because neither Shabir Shah nor his followers and the people in general have given up their demand of self determination. “Now, fresh arrest spree has been started and it has been extended to our religious leaders as well which will have drastic results if not stopped forthwith,” he said. “A reconciliatory approach is the only way out to get the issues resolved and if New Delhi is serious to stop the ongoing bloodshed in the disputed region it must immediately release all the political prisoners and adopt a resolution process after accepting the basic historical facts about the dispute,” spokesperson added. JKDFP spokesperson said that banning political and social activities in the disputed region has already turned Kashmir into a big jail. “People living in this big jail seriously think on reactionary lines so New Delhi must read writing on the wall and provide a free atmosphere to people so that they feel that they are heard and their sentiment is respected. This only can stop people from adopting the way of resistance,” he added.(KNO)
