Srinagar, March 12 (KNO) : Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) senior vice chairman, Abdul Hameed Butt Tuesday said if excessive use of brutal force, evil tactics of intimidations, threats and other oppressive means were able to defeat peoples revelations and freedom movements, then India instead of a sovereign nation would have been a British colony till date. Butt was addressing a meeting was organized for taking a stock of the present situation, incarceration of JKLF chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik, slapping draconian PSA on him and putting him in solitary confinement, raids by NIA on Kashmiris, ban on socio/religious organisation Jamat-I-Islami, unabated arrest spree and especially the summoning of Mirwaiz Muhammad Umar Farooq, Syed Naseem Geelani and others to Delhi by NIA was attended by all JKLF leaders. In a statement issued to KNO, Butt said, “Indian rulers who dream of defeating Kashmiri resistances by using NIA type agencies are the only day-dreaming which will never come true.” Addressing the meeting, Bhat said that jails and incarceration are nothing new for resistance leadership and the people of Jammu Kashmir have been passing through this ordeal from last seventy plus years now but with Allah’s grace have not surrendered before this tyranny and oppression. Terming recent raids by NIA and summoning of Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Naseem Geelani and others to Delhi, as ‘an act of frustration and revenge’, JKLF vice chairman said that “upset by the peoples revolution of 2016, India fascist rulers started NIA theatre in 2017, and besides arresting dozens of resistance leaders, businessman and students including Syed Shabir Ahmad Shah,Altaf Ahmad Shah , Shahid-ul-Islam, Ayaz Akbar, Peer Saif-u-ullah ,Raja Meraj-u-Din Kalwal, Nayeem Ahmed Khan, Farooq Ahmed Dar , Zahoor Ahmad Watali,Shahid Yousuf Shah,Muhammad Aslam Wani, Shakil Yousuf Shah, Syeda Asiya Andrabi, Fahmida Sofi and Naheeda Nasreen, also grilled hundreds of kith and kin, friends and colleagues of resistance leaders at the pretext of so-called terror funding case.” “After recent Pulwama attack, NIA was again let loose as an act of revenge and this agency conducted raids on many residential houses. Not only this Ban on Jamat-i-Islami followed by arresting thousands of young and old, confiscating properties and other oppressive measures also gained momentum,” he said. The statement added that Malik was arrested on 22nd February, booked under draconian PSA and put into solitary confinement at Kot-Balwal jail Jammu. “This was followed by the summoning of Mirwaiz and others to Delhi,” it added. JKLF vice chairman said that this new phase of terror has been let loose with a revengeful mindset against Kashmiris, who refused to budge or surrender before Indian ‘hegemony’. “One of its prime objectives is also to gain more votes and seats in upcoming Indian parliamentary elections are retaining power in Delhi,” added JKLF leader. He said that for getting election benefits, negative propaganda, polluting and hoodwinking India public opinion by using India media especially TV channels that are shamefully working as mercenaries for the oppressors has been deployed by the rulers which is actually poisoning the whole region. “By enhancing oppression and tyranny, Indian fascist rulers, who consider Godsey as their leader instead of Gandhi and who played the role of renegades during Indian war for freedom, are actually mourning on their failures in Kashmir. How a mindset that worked as informers of British imperialism can understand the hearts and minds, passion, and zeal of real freedom fighters and nations striving for their freedom and right to self-determination,” Butt said. He said these people imagine that they can defeat a peoples movement by using military and police might but fail to realize the wonderful chapter of the history of nations that tyranny and oppression have and can never defeat peoples will and valour. “If excessive use of brutal force, evil tactics of intimidations, threats and other oppressive means were able to defect peoples revolutions and freedom movements, then India instead of being a sovereign nation today would have been a British colony till date,” Bhat asserted . He said that sooner India leadership realizes this truth it is better for its own survival and progress because the law of retribution tells that every oppressor and tyrant has to reply for his crimes against humans and humanity one day. Butt said that Mirwaiz dynasty his contributed a lot for the social, religious, educational and political upliftment of Kashmiri society and summoning Mirwaiz, Naseem Geelani, and others is like summoning the entire nation of Kashmir and Kashmiris will never accept this theatre silently. Terming the prolonging solitary confinement of Malik as ‘illegal’, he said that caging Yasin Malik has exposed Indian democracy and freedom of speech. “Yasin Malik is a thought, a leader, a soul that cannot be confined by some walls,” he said. JKLF senior vice chairman said that Kashmiris will fight Indian onslaught and aggression with unity, dedication and valour and resistance against illegal occupation and oppression will continue till the achievement of the desired goal.(KNO)
