Train crushes 60-year-old man to death in Qazigund | KNO

Qazigund, March 19 (KNO) : A man was crushed to death after being hit by a train in Qazigund area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Tuesday. An official told KNO the incident took place today morning at Qazigund area of Anantnag when a speedy train hit a 60-year-old man, resulting in his on spot death, on Srinagar-Banihal track at Qazigund. The official identified the deceased as Ghulam Nabi Bhat, son of Gulam Ahmad Bhat of Churat area of Qazingund in Kulgam district. The body has been handed over to his legal heirs for last rites after conducted all legal medico formalities. Since 10 meters on either side of the railway track are prohibited and signboards stand erected in this regard, people are requested to venture into the restricted zones, official said. Police has registered a case in this regard and initiated further investigation. (KNO)
