Mirwaiz grieved over demise of Imam of Jamia Masjid Shopian | KNO

Srinagar, March 20 (KNO) : Mutahida Majlis-e-Ulema patron Mirwaiz Umar Farooq expressed grief over the demise of prominent Islamic scholar and Imam of Jamia masjid of Shopian Moulvi Abdul Hameed, who was also the founder member of MMU. In a statement issued to KNO, Mirwaiz paid tributes to Moulvi Abdul Hameed for his religious and social contributions stating that the deceased remained on the forefront for more than four decades in imparting Islam teachings in its true and pristine form to the people of Kashmir besides preaching unity among all sections throughout his life. Mirwaiz spoke over phone to Moulvi Rizwan, the son of deceased and expressed his heartfelt condolence, sympathy and solidarity with the family in this hour of grief. Mirwaiz prayed for highest standards for the deceased in Janah. (KNO)
