Gunfight rages in Sopore village, internet suspended | KNO

Sopore, March 21 (KNO) : Gun fight is raging between militants and government forces in Warpora village of Sopore North Kashmir Baramulla district on Thursday morning. Official sources told KNO that contingents of Army 22 RR, SOG Sopore,177 and 179CRPF and Police cordon off warpora village in wee hours. As the forces intensified the searches, hiding militants in the area opened fire, leading to a gun fight which was going on when last reports came in. The army has already rushed more reinforcement in the area, they said. A police officer confirmed to KNO that the encounter and said that the cordon was launched following specific inputs in the village. Sources said two Jash -e- Mohammad militants believed to be trapped in the area. Mobile internet service has been suspended in Sopore. (KNO)
