Shopian, March 22 (KNO) : Two unidentified militants have been killed and their charred bodies have been recovered, who were killed in an encounter that raged in Gada pora area of South Kashmir's Shopian district during Friday evening and the search operation that continued for many hours has also ended. Official sources confirmed to KNO that two militants have been killed and at least six structures suffered damage in the incident. Two dead bodies have been recovered and among them one is completely charred and legs of other have also burnt, they said. They added that their identification is being ascertained however sources believe that killed militants were associated with Jaish and among them one is foreign and one is local. We were expecting third body at the spot as well and we used JCB and Machinery to trace it but couldn't find, they added. Meanwhile over a dozen persons suffered during massive clashes that erupted in the area near encounter site. Earlier on specific inputs about the presence of militants in the area, a joint team of forces including 34 RR and SOG of Jammu and Kashmir police launched search operation in Gadha pora Ratnipora area of Shopian. On intensifying search operation towards the suspected spot, hiding militants fired upon forces which was retaliated triggered encounter. Meanwhile in wake of the gunfight Internet services have been snapped in Shopian while in other parts of South kashmir it has been reduced to 2G.(KNO)
