Srinagar, March 28 (KNO) : Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (JKDFP) Thursday paid tributes to noted Kashmiri lawyer, Advocate Jaleel Ahmad Andrabi, on his 23rd anniversary.
The body of forty-two-year-old Jalil Andrabi, a human rights lawyer and pro-freedom political activist, was found in the Kursu Rajbagh area of Srinagar on the banks of the Jhelum River on the morning of March 27, 1996, a statement issued to KNO reads. Andrabi was detained on March 8 by a Rashtriya Rifles unit of the Indian army which intercepted his car a few hundred yards from his home in Srinagar, it added.
While remembering Advocate Jaleel Andrabi, JKDFP spokesperson said that the struggle and sacrifice rendered by him can never be forgotten. “He was a courageous and passionate freedom loving citizen who had dedicated his life for the cause of freedom. Though he was advised by the friends and family to stay away from Kashmir after he received threats from the occupied forces however he did not bow and continued his selfless service to the cause,” he added.
“Kashmiri nation has sacrificed people like Advocate Jaleel Andrabi for freedom making the movement so precious. Now it is our duty to exhibit resilience, one face approach, dedication and steadfastness to achieve the much cherished goal,” he said.()KNO
