Rajouri, March 28 (KNO) : Rajouri police on Thursday claimed to have booked two local boys for updating ‘sensitive posts’ on social media platform. The two boys running their Facebook accounts on the names of Bajjard Tariq and Er Ashfaq Khatana shared two separate posts on their Facebook timeline and used ‘highly sensitive remarks’ in their appeal to voters of a particular community in view of on-going parliamentary elections. The words used in their posts are having potential to disturb peaceful atmosphere of the district, police said. Taking strong note of it, police has registered a case FIR No. 150/2019 U/S 153-A, 125 RPC and 66-B IT Act. Case has been registered in police station Rajouri against the duo and investigation teams have been formed to nab them. SSP Rajouri Yougal Manhas told KNO that “the words used by the duo were highly objectionable and sensitive in terms of law and order and the duo behaved in a highly insensitive manner.” He added that duo has been booked and attempts are on to arrest them. He further appealed all the people to take healthy participation in democratic process of voting instead of using sensitive comments and warned that strict action under law will be taken against whosoever will try to disturb the peaceful atmosphere. SSP Rajouri further informed that social media accounts of more than twenty persons including those affiliated with political parties, especially from Rajouri town, are under surveillance and authorities are going to take action against some more persons for their irresponsible acts on social media platforms.(KNO)
