JAMMU & KASHMIR Officer injured as timber smugglers attack forest officials in Shopian | KNO Published 258 weeks ago on April 04, 2019 By KashmirNewsObserver Shopian, April 04 (KNO) : An officer of forest department was injured after the timber smugglers attacked a team of forest officials at Thairen Kandi area in Keller village of Shopian. Officials told KNO said that a forest department’s team led by Mohammed Abdullah Bhat intercepted smugglers carrying timber on horses near Thairen Kandi village of district Shopian during late last night. “When the team tried to stop the smugglers, they were attacked with sharp weapons and left the forest officer Bhat injured seriously,” they said. Bhat a resident of Chakoora village in Pulwama district was shifted to nearby hospital from where he was referred to Srinagar where his condition is said to be stable.
