Srinagar, April 04 (KNO) : Children of casual laborers, donning school uniform and school bags on Thursday protested in Srinagar. They demanded salaries of their parents withheld since 18 months now. Abdul Qayoom, District President CLA said that the families of casual laborers are suffering and government is unmoved at their plight. “Is their conscience dead," a protesting employee asked as per KNO Correspondent. "For 18 months we have been deprived of our salaries. Do they not ask themselves 'how will the CL survive'," they said. According to KNO correspondent, Qayoom said that they have been protesting since four days and administration is unmoved and is still not coming out of its callous approach to the 'tragedy they have perpetrated on them'. Children of the employees were holding placards reading: Give our parents their salaries. According to Qayoom, children of the employees have been denied entry in schools as they are unable to pay their fees. "How are we going to support our families. Do our kids deserve to come on roads when they should be in class rooms,” they said. They urged governor to intervene personally so that they can have a sigh of relief.(KNO)
