Jamia Masjid sealed, Mirwaiz placed under house arrest ahead of Friday prayers | KNO

Srinagar, April 05 (KNO) : The authorities on Friday morning sealed historic Jamia Masjid here while as chairman Hurriyat Conference (M) Mirwaiz Umar Farooq was placed under house arrest since morning, sources told KNO. Witnesses revealed that heavy contingent of forces were deployed at strength at Nowhatta to prevent devotees from reaching the Jamia Masjid to offer congregational prayers on Friday eve. Meanwhile, sources in Hurriyat (M) said that Mirwaiz was placed under house arrest since morning and he was asked not to venture out.(KNO)
