Srinagar, April 06 (KNO) : Shahr-e-Khas coordination committee Saturday said that the Jammu and Kashmir Bank here are looting them by debiting amount in the name of maintaining charges, Cheque book charges and others.
In a statement issued to KNO, the committee urged JK bank officials over the debiting funds from accounts in the form of balance maintaining charges or Cheque book charges or Rtgs charges or LPC charges or SMS alert charges or ATM charges, saying “all of them is aimed to looting us.”
They used to say (JK BANK Apka Apna Bank ), but is this really our own bank. When we are putting our funds in current accounts we don’t earn anything from that and on other hand they provide these funds to cash credit facility holders and earn healthy interest from it,” committee chairman Nazir Ahmad Shah, president Bashir Ahmad Kanu, senior vice president Irfan Wani and General Secretary Waseem Khan said in a statement.
Unfortunately, when a poor common man is not able to maintain the balance, his account is being debited with by huge amounts without their consent or any information, they said. “We warn JK BANK officials again to stop this exercise forthwith otherwise we all traders will stop doing business with banks and will do in cash then. We don’t need our accounts to be looted by white collar persons,” the statement reads.(KNO)
