Srinagar, April 08 (KNO) : The mainstream political party leaders on Monday sharply reacted to the election manifesto of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ahead of Lok Sabha polls. BJP in its manifesto has promised to revoke Article 370 and 35A.
According to KNO News Desk, former chief minister and National Conference (NC) vice president, Omar Abdullah said that Governor Satya Pal Malik in recent claimed there was no threat to Article 370 and 35A, hops his colleagues in BJP send him a copy of their manifesto.
“Recently J&K Governor claimed there was no threat to Art 370 & 35-A and that parties like mine were only using them to drum up fear in the elections. I hope his colleagues in the BJP send him a copy of their manifesto,” Omar tweeted.
Former chief minister and PDP president, Mehbooba Mufti asked people of India to beware about the BJP’s policies, saying “you (people) will be consigned to the tukde tukde gang.” Terming the inclusion of Article 35- A into the manifesto by BJP political theatrics, Pradesh Congress said that no one can abrogate the special provision of the article till Congress is on the earth.
Speaking to media in Anantnag, State Congress Chief G A Mir as per a statement issued to KNO said that the BJP has been telling this since its inception but has never been able to do it practically. He said if they were to abrogate the special provision of the constitution, why they didn’t do it during the last five years when they enjoyed the absolute majority in parliament.
“Beware fellow hindustanis. Your certificate of patriotism will be issued only if you have a communal and anti minority mindset. Otherwise you will be consigned to the tukde tukde gang,” Mehbooba tweeted. Peoples Conference chairman and former minister Sajad Gani Lone apparently reacting to the manifesto of BJP said any reckless thought or comment seeking removal of Article 370 and 35A is a disaster.
“Article 370 and 35A are sacred. The only space for movement in this regard is reversal of the erosions. Any other reckless thought or comment seeking removal is a disaster,” Lone tweeted.(KNO)
