Shopian, April 09 (KNO) : Government forces on Monday evening allegedly ransacked several residential houses and scores of vehicles in Keegam area of south Kashmir’s Shopian district. Residents of Keegam alleged that after minor stone pelting in the area, forces vandalized residential houses and cars in the area.
They vandalized whatever came in their way and damaged windowpanes and mirrors of nearly one dozen houses and also damaged over 20 vehicles, they said. They also threatened locals of dire consequences if they again restored to stone pelting, they said.
Pertinently, a militant of the village namely Bilal Ahmad was killed along with his colleague Rahil from Ganderbal in orchards of Shopian on Saturday afternoon, following which clashes had erupted in the area. Since Bilal's killing, a spontaneous shutdown continued for the third consecutive day on Tuesday in Keegam area. An official when contacted told KNO that the allegations of locals are baseless.(KNO)
