Allow traffic on coming Sunday in view of Baisakhi: Sikh leader to Govt | KNO

Srinagar, April 10 (KNO) : Prominent Sikh leader Indumeet Singh on Wednesday appealed government to allow civilian traffic on highway in view of Baisakhi on Sunday. Indumeet Singh as per a statement issued to KNO said that the overall revocation of the order is only way out that can give respite to Kashmiris who are facing problems from every side. "On the eve of Baisakhi on Sunday, thousands of Sikh devotees will travel from various districts of State. Highway ban will impact their travel and will end up creating problems for whole community." Indumeet Singh said. "We appeal government not to force us to hit roads and defy the highway ban," he said, adding that the convey movement can be made possible through out night hours as well. “There is no need to create problems for civilian population of Kashmir,” he said. He urged government to look into the matter in a logical and humanistic way and revoke the order. Whole Sikh community is celebrating Baisakhi on 14 of April that falls on Sunday when highway ban will be in effect.(KNO)
