Srinagar, April 12 (KNO) : Acting chairman of JKLF Abdul Hameed Butt condemned the brutal killing of a 13-year-old boy namely; Owais Ahmed Mir of Handwara, Kupwara by forces. Butt in a statement issued to KNO has also condemned the ‘indiscriminate firing’ by forces at Palhalan, Pattan and at many other areas that has left dozens including a woman injured. Terming the cold-blooded murder of Owais Ahmed in Handwara, as ‘callous and cowardly act’, JKLF acting chairman said that “frustrated by the exemplary resistance of Kashmiri’s, the forces opened the mouths of their bullet and pellet guns at unarmed civilians at various places in North Kashmir yesterday.” “There are also reports of another young boy namely; Mubashir Ahmed Dar of Baramulla been martyred by the occupational forces,” he said. He said use of force by India is a clear display of its frustration which has in-fact increased after the exhibition of yesterday’s election boycott and firm resistance by the people. Butt said “despite coercion, luring, threats, intimidations, manipulations of every sort, and above all chaining down the resistance camp and disallowing all its programs to reach out to the masses with the boycott call, people of Kashmir by and large boycotted these elections for which people of Baramulla parliamentary constituency deserve kudos.” He said that yesterday after the voting time, we have been handed over again with corpses of two budding flowers, Owais and Mubashir. “This is the real face of Indian democracy in Kashmir,” acting chairman JKLF said. Expressing solidarity with the bereaved families of both Owais Mir and Mubashir Dar, JKLF leader prayed for the speedy recovery of all those injured. While expressing deep concern over the continued detention of JKLF Chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik in NIA custody, Butt said that from last three days, JKLF Chairman’s whereabouts are unknown. “Nobody is being allowed to meet him and even his family has not yet been informed about his well-being and his whereabouts,” he added. He said that India under the pretext of ‘terror funding’ has actually unleashed ‘a reign of state sponsored terror’ against the Kashmiri nation and sole aim of this is to put people of Kashmir into submission and surrender before the might. “We the people of Kashmir, hereby re-iterate our pledge that, come what may our legal and sacred struggle for freedom and right to self-determination will continue till the desired goal is achieved,” he added.(KNO)
