Srinagar, April 15 (KNO) : Former chief minister and National Conference patron Dr Farooq Abdullah on Monday called Prime Minister Narendra Modi a ‘Pharaoh’ and said that he will 'meet the same fate'. According to KNO correspondent, Abdullah made these sharp comments while addressing a rally in Srinagar at Sher-e-Kashmir Park.
Abdullah said that the claims by Modi that NC was dividing the Indian state were wrong and it was other way round. "Modi himself is dividing the country on the basis of religion etc," Abdullah said.
"Modi will meet the fate of pharoah," he said. Abdullah dared PM Modi and challenged him to organize a rally in Kashmir like he is rallying in other parts of the country. Dr. Farooq was accompanied by NC Vice president and former minister Omar Abdullah, Ali Muhammad Sagar, Nasir Aslam Wani, Aga Ruhullah, Shameema Firdous, Mubarak Gul, Dr. Mustafa Kamal and others.
He said that India would not have been in existence in case NC had conspired to destruct the country. Meanwhile, Omar Abdullah also addressed the gathering who stressed on safeguarding the special status of Jammu and Kashmir.
“The special status to Jammu and Kashmir has been given to the people inheritance and people have to answer those who are trying to attack it from past several years,” he added.
He said that people must cast their ballots with proper analysis so that the forces who are attacking the JK will not come into the power again. “It is the people who will come up with the results about the stronghold of any party on May 29,” he added. Earlier, the gathering was started with the State’s anthem during which the NC leadership as well as the crowd there were seen waiving the NC flag.(KNO)
