Two PDD officers suspended for dereliction of duty in Bandipora | KNO

Bandipora, April 22 (KNO): Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Shahbaz Ahmad Mirza Monday suspended two officers for dereliction of duty. Assistant Engineer PDD Bandipora and a Junior Engineer of PDD were put under suspension after remaining absent from duties without any leave. The orders were passed after the inhabitants of Ashtangoo Bandipora staged a protest and closed Bandipora-Sopore road for not replacing the damaged transformer and the officers failed to reach the spot to resolve the matter. The officers were asked to reach the spot to resolve the issue. However both failed to adhere to the orders and put public to avoidable inconvenience as both were found absent from duties without any leave as confirmed from the executive engineer. Deputy Commissioner Bandipora said the examinations for various posts of JK Bank was scheduled to be held on Monday and due to closure of road at Ashtangoo, a number of candidates faced difficulties in reaching the examination centers in time. Both the officers were immediately put under suspension in view of the dereliction of the duties and non-compliance of the orders and have been attached to the office of Assistant Commissioner Revenue Bandipora who will inquire into the matter and shall charge sheet the suspendees.(KNO)
