Protests rock Chattergam Budgam against rape of Bandipora's Minor | KNO

Budgam, May 14 (KNO) : Massive protests erupted at Chattergam on Tuesday against the rape of Bandipora’s minor ladt week.Eyewitnesses told KNO that hundreds of people hit the streets in Chattergam area of Budgam. The protestors have blocked Pulwama-Srinagar road. The protestors were demanded exemplary punishment against the rape accused and said the investigations should be completed on fast track basis. Locals said the local police deployed in the area tried to pacify the protestors triggering clashes. “Police resorted to tear gas shelling and used pellets to disperse the protesting youth," locals told KNO. Clashes were going on when the report was being filed. Already, an FIR number 81/2019, under section 363/342/376 RPC has been registered in Sumbal police station.(KNO)
