Kulgam, May 22 (KNO) : A wild black bear was stoned to death by locals in Zungalpora village of Devsar area in South Kashmir's Kulgam district on Tuesday late evening. A video available with KNO reveals that the locals attacked black bear with stones and other harmful things. The video bas gone viral on social media as well. A police official told KNO that they have taken cognizance of the video and were ascertaining the details. Meanwhile, the incident sparked outrage on the social media as several people termed it heartbreaking and inhuman Netizens have demanded that the people who were pelting stones on bear should be identified and brought to book The incidents of man-animal conflict had increased during the past about a decade due to interference of humans in the forests in the Valley “We are trying to identify the people who pelted stones at the bear due to which it results the death of bear. Once they are identified," a police official told KNO. He said an FIR will be registered against those who will be found involved in pelting of stones on the wild animal.(KNO)
