Srinagar, May 31 (KNS): Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Chairman Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai strongly condemned slapping of 38th PSA on incarcerated leader Masarat Alam Bhat, terming it as a ‘worst demonstration of political vendetta and quite disheartening’. Sehrai in a statement issued to KNO said the incarcerated leader has no fault except that he believes that Jammu and Kashmir is a disputed region and struggling for its final political resolution which had been promised to the people of Kashmir and never fulfilled yet. Caging political leaders over dissent and political belief is not a democracy. “PSA is a way of doing away with the requirement of civilized jurisprudence; it is a devious way to imprison political opponents. Even for those released, the possibility of re-detention hangs like a sword over their heads,” he said. Furthermore, Sehrai paid tributes to Sopore and Shopian slain militants, and said the pain of losing loved ones can well be felt by the Kashmiris who see the dance of death and who shoulder the coffins of their loved ones almost every day even in the holy month of Ramadhan.(KNO)
