Srinagar, June 01 (KNO) : Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President Ghulam Ahmad Mir congratulated UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi over being elected as Chairperson of Congress Parliamentary Party, hailing her for taking the burden on her shoulders. Mir as per a statement issued to KNO also hailed Rahul Gandhi for his tireless efforts in Parliamentary Elections. JKPCC President while congratulating Sonia Gandhi over being elected as Chairman of Congress Parliamentary Party (CPP) said that “Sonia has taken the burden upon her shoulders, saying that Congress Party under the Leadership of both Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi would be able to overcome the challenges, besides defeating the divisive and opportunist politics on the part of BJP.” Congress represents the urges and aspirations of the people in true sense and it will continue to work tirelessly for wellbeing of the people, Mir said. Describing the Congress as peoples’ party, Mir said the poll outcome of recently concluded elections won’t dissuade it (Congress it Party) from facing the challenges, besides working for the wellbeing of the people and overall development of the Country under the leadership of Sonia Ji and Rahul Gandhi, Mir added.(KNO)
