Srinagar, June 01 (KNO): Hurriyat Conference (M) Saturday paid tributes to the slain youth killed in various gunfights in South Kashmir’s Sugan, Shopian, Tral Awantipora, north Kashmir’s Dangerpora area in Sopore—Abid Manzoor Magray, Bilal Ahmed Bhat, Yawar Ahmed Najar, Umar, Naseer Ahmed Mir, Asif Ahmed War and a civilian Jasim Ahmed Shah. The amalgam as per a statement issued to KNO said that even in the sacred month of Ramadan, Kashmir saw no end to bloodshed as the killing of youth continued unabated. It strongly condemned the use of pellets on protestors in these areas that has left many youths with grave eye-injuries and stated that the way live ammunition and lethal pellets are showered on the protestors reflects the anti-people policy of youth and that the international community must take serious note of it. Hurriyat (M) said that entire Kashmir, especially South Kashmir areas have been converted into a battle ground and there is hardly any day, when youth are not killed, harassed and maimed which stands as the eye-opener for the international community as far as the worst scenario of the human rights violations in Kashmir is concerned. The amlagm said that people of Kashmir are fighting for their legitimate right—right to self-determination for which priceless sacrifices of life and property are being given by its people. Hurriyat reiterated that unless Kashmir issue is addressed peace and prosperity will elude south Asia and it’s high time that instead of using a military approach GOI needs to address the issue politically through dialogue and engagement among all parties.(KNO)
