Srinagar, June 07 (KNO) : Reacting to the arrest of Shabir Ahmad Shah, Masarat Aalam and Asiya Andrabi by NIA, Muslim League chairman Mushtaq ul Islam Thursday said that arresting political leader in alleged terror funding case while they are already behind bars proves that rulers in New Delhi are desperate to cow down pro-freedom leadership. Mushtaq-ul-Islam in a statement issued to KNO termed the move a futile attempt on the part of India, saying “It is a vain attempt to break and weaken their commitment to the movement,” he said, reiterating that such cowardly and suppressive measures could not dampen the passion and commitment of the pro-freedom leadership. “Indian agencies are filing fabricated charges against pro-freedom leadership,” Islam said, adding that state and New Delhi administration arrested them on ‘fabricated charges’ and detained in jail and subjected to ‘extreme physical torture’.(KNO)
