Baramulla, Jun 08 (KNO) : The residents as well as the shopkeepers of Sopore area in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district here expressed resentment against the authorities for failing to lift the heaps of garbage that could be seen piling up in several parts of main market Sopore. The market comes under the jurisdiction of Sopore Municipal Committee. The shopkeepers and pedestrians told KNO that stinking smell emanate from the garbage. One of the Shopkeepers, Mohd Shafi told KNO the MCS don’t lift the garbage from market side hence this “ignorance” could lead to bacterial and viral diseases on the filth heaped on the roadside. “This is all mess here, the concerned authorities do not even care,” Shafi told KNO. Executive Officer, Municipal Committee Sopore, Mohd Lateef told KNO that they too have received such complaints from the locals, adding the garbage will be lifted within two or three days.
