Div Com visits Yatra Transit Camps, reviews facilities for Amarnath Yatra | KNO

Anantnag, June 14 (KNO) : Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir Baseer Ahmad Khan along with DDC Anantnag Khalid Jahangir, DIG South, Director Disaster Management and other senior officers today visited Yatra Transit Camps at FC Godown Mir-bazaar, Walnut Factory Qazigund and Gulab Bagh Qazigund to review the necessary arrangements to be put in place for the pilgrims of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2019. The Div Com also reviewed the basic arrangements including portable drinking water, power supply, installation of Halogen lights, bathroom, toilet facilities and availability of essentials commodities. The Divisional Commissioner directed Exen. R&B Qazigund, I/C Housing Board & I/C Tourism Department to complete the necessary repairs and renovation works, Housing Board to construct the wall alongwith the road at R&B Building at Gulab Bagh, Tourism Department to ensure functioning of facilitation centre at JT with one small room. I/C Tourism Department was also directed construction for immediate completion of toilets/bathrooms at the venue. At Yatra Transit Camp, Walnut Factory Qazigund he directed the concerned departments including PHE, PDD, R&B, FS&CAPD, EO MC Qazigund to ensure installation of 40 PPs, by PHE, construction of 100 toilets, supply of blankets and essential commodities and also directed Disaster Management to complete the installation of 16x48 prefabricated 04 halls at the venue within 10 days to facilitate the devotees. The Div Com also visited parking site at Walnut Factory Qazigund. The DDC Anantnag informed the Div Com that at present parking facility of 70 vehicles is available at the venue. The Div Com also visited Yatra transit Camp at FC Godown at Mirbazaar, where 03 big halls have night stay capacity for 1500 Yatries. He also reviewed the arrangements made by the concerned departments with regard to installation of PPs, by PHE Department, Drainage of the camp by R&B Khanabal, installation of Halogen lights by PDD and sanitation facilities by MC Anantnag. The Div Com passed the direction to the concerned officers to complete the all works by 20th of June 2019. The DDC informed the Div Com Kashmir that night stay facilities for more than 4000 devotees will be made available at the Transit Camps of Gulab Bagh Qazigund, Walnut Factory Qazigund, Migrant Colony Vessu and FC Godown Mirbazar.(KNO)
