Srinagar, June 15 (KNO) : Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (JKDFP) Saturday strongly condemned the sending of its incarcerated chief Shabir Shah for judicial custody after ten days of interrogation. The party as per a statement issued to KNO said that Shabir Shah is being asked same questions again and again ever since he was arrested in July 2017. “Investigating agencies have miserably failed to establish anything adverse against Shabir Shah who believes in politics only. It was now the duty of the Judiciary to uphold the values of justice by releasing Shabir Shah but unfortunately the Indian judiciary is working under political influence hence damaging the institution of justice and impartiality,” JKDFP said. The statement added that it is highly condemnable that Shabir Shah is being made a victim of political vendetta only for advocating the resolution of the Kashmir dispute which is the cause of the ongoing bloodshed in the disputed region and the skirmishes between New Delhi and Islamabad which is resulting in the endangering of the stability and peace of the whole South Asian region. “Shabir Shah has been working for a resolution so that the neighbouring countries could live in harmony but unfortunately New Delhi is hell bent to crush his political voice. Such kind of attitude is a clear message from New Delhi that it does not give any heed to politics leaving the space for violence and bloodshed. This is unfortunate that Shabir Shah is undergoing imprisonment for his political beliefs and the world is watching silently, still the international community claims that it is monitoring the Kashmir situation closely!” the statement added.(KNO)
