Srinagar, June 21 (KNO) : Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Chairman Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai strongly condemned the detention of 75-year-old senior TeH leader Abdul Subhan Wani of Sopore. Sehrai in a statement issued to KNO said “the state authorities are trespassing all the ethical codes and don't even bothered about the ages. Abdul Subhan Wani is suffering from many ailments despite that police arrested him and lodged in police station without any rhyme and reason.” He said irrespective of age, Kashmiri youth and pro-freedom leaders and activists in particular are being detained and there is no let up in harassment and intimidation. “It is quite disheartening that he is being subjected to vengeance by state authorities,” he said. Sehrai also decried govt authorities for prolonging the detention of Abdul Gani Bhat and Abdul Ahad Parra, saying despite their ill health govt is reluctant to release them. Meanwhile, TeH General Secretary Ameer Hamzah led a funeral absentia prayer for the Dr. Mohammad Morsi at Hyderpora Jamia Masjid. He also prayed for the departed soul.(KNO)
