Abducted relatives of active militant released with gunshot wounds | KNO

Anantnag, June 21 (KNO) : The husband wife duo, also the sister and brother-in-law of an active Lashkar-e-Taiba militant were released a day after their abduction but with gunshot wounds in their native village. The Sister and brother in law of active LeT militant Nasir Ahmad Chadroo were abducted by unknown gunmen from their house on Thursday afternoon, officials said while identifying the duo as Nusrat Banoo and her husband Mudasir Ahmad Makroo. The gunmen called the two outside their home in Makroo Mohalla of Arwani on Thursday afternoon and took them away in a car and since then there were no traces of them up to Friday afternoon, they added. Eyewitnesses told KNO that both were released and were shot at by the unidentified gunmen in main market Arwani after Friday prayers. The duo has received bullet injuries in their legs and were shifted to Sub District Hospital Bijbehara for treatment, sources said, adding that Mudasir was later referred to District Hospital Anantnag while as Nusrat was referred to Srinagar for specialised treatment. An official told KNO that both were abducted by militants however so far no militant group has claimed the responsibility of their abduction.(KNO)
