Srinagar, June 29 (KNO) : Expressing complete solidarity with its incarcerated chief and senior resistance leader, Shabir Shah, Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Saturday said expressed serious concern over the plight of political prisoners imprisoned in different State jails and outside. JKDFP Spokesperson in a statement issued to KNO said that Shabir Shah is suffering in Tihar jail only for advocating right to self determination of his people, however Shabir Shah has been a great advocate of genuineness ever since his student days. “Shabir Shah has recently completed 32 years of his incarceration and he is being punished only for being a truthful politician, so jails and incarcerations are not new for him. Freedom party praised the steadfastness and resolve of its jailed chief and expressed solidarity with him,” he said. The spokesperson also expressed concern over the plight of other Kashmiri prisoners of Tihar and other jails in and outside the state. He appealed the international organisations working for prisoners to take practical steps to get hundreds of Kashmiri political prisoners released. He further said that the dispute on Kashmir involves the people of Kashmir, India and Pakistan – the two nuclear states in South-Asia and thus constitutes a potential threat to peace and stability in the region. “It is therefore responsibility of every sane world player to save the region’s stability and urge upon New Delhi to shun its stubbornness and come out with a vibrant political attitude so that the longest pending dispute on the agenda of UNSC can be resolved amicably,” he said.(KNO)
